Abie Loy Kemarre
Abie Loy Kemarre was born on Utopia station, about 270km north east of Alice Springs in Central Australia to Mother Margaret Loy Pula and Father Ray Loy Pula. Abie’s extended family consists of many talented artists. Her mother was the recipient of the Wynn Prize in 2012, as well as receiving several other prestigious art awards in the years since.
Abie Loy Kemarre has been surrounded by these artists from a young age and began her artistic practice in her late teens with encouragement and guidance from her world-renowned Grandmother, Kathleen Petyarre. Her works are held in collections all over the world and she has been a part of many group and solo exhibitions.
Her works are abstract depictions of several dreaming, including Bush Medicine, Awelye (Body Paint) and Bush Hen, among others. These works are delicate depictions and have captured the hearts of lovers of fine art worldwide.
