Clarise Tunkin

CLarise Tunkin was born in 1993 in Alice Springs hospital, and is a part of a large family of artists. Her mother, Teresa Baker a Pitjantjatjara woman from Kanpi, along with aunty Kani Tunkin and grandmother Kaye Baker (Daughter to Jimmy Baker) are all celebrated Tjungu Palya artists. Clarise rose to prominence in 2015 when her painting Minma Marlimu was selected as a finalist in the Telstra Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Award which is held each year at the Art Gallery and Museum of Northern territory in Darwin.
