Ngoia paints the features of her father’s country, which is located to the North West of Mt Liebig in Warlpiri Country. The story of this area is of the water snake that looks over the land here. The oval shapes in her paintings are an iconographic representation of the swamps and lakes and the fine detailed dots represent the water drying up and the cracks in the ground forming. Ngoia will sometimes depict the water snake as he travels across this area.
