Ruby paints an extraordinary variety of stories which she says comes from two Countries, Ngkwarlerlanem and Arnkawenyerr. Ruby can paint the ceremonial body paint designs belonging to these countries and also her mother’s country, Antarrengeny. This piece depicts the wildflowers which grow after rains have fallen on the dry land. The Bush Yam is an important food source and ceremonies are held to give thanks for the Yam and to ensure the abundance of the root (which can be eaten, and is reminiscent of a sweet potato).
