In the year 2012, Cathy moved to Coober Pedy from the Riverland in South Australia. This became the artistic turning point in her life. Being surrounded by the great Australian outback, sunsets and sunrises like no other, inspired her to pick up a paint brush and paint seriously for the first time.
Using nature as her inspiration this led her in a certain direction of using mostly natural mediums such as sandstone as her paint, and painting on Zebra stone, mostly all found in the Coober Pedy area. Natural elements are the most important quality of her paintings, highlighting the natural beauty of central Australia in particular.
Although relatively new to the art world her unique style has attracted sales and consignment work all adding to her fast growing artistic portfolio.
