This artwork is s[ectacular with it’s elegant black and white palette. Fabrianne developed this artwork from an image of a pencil drawing she made while working at the courthouse as an interpreter. Using gutta bottles, she had at first drawn this stunning fine art piece in a creamy antique white. We have really enjoyed seeing Fabrianne develop this story further using a palette of red, orange, yellow, red oxide and white, among other palettes.
Three women are shown down the centre of this artwork. Also depicted are the women’s ceremonial artefacts. The women have gathered to perform a ceremony at a women’s site to the west of Papunya, the same as the ancestral spirits performed back in the Dreamtime.
