This artwork is Fabrianne’s depiction of the Wangunu Seed (Damper Seed) as it is collected by the women in Coolamons. These tiny black seeds are ground into a fine flour and used to make bush damper.
As a young girl, Fabrianne was fascinated by the patterns these seeds made in the coolamon as they were filled by the women. To collect the seed, the bush that they come from is shaken into the coolamon so that the loose seeds are released.
