Australian Aboriginal Art by Delores Furber

61cm x 46cm – Stretched and ready to hang

The tiny fruit of the Yalka (bush onion) is a very important food source for many Central Australian Aboriginal people. The women usually own this dreaming and often pay homage to the spirit of the bush onion in their ceremonies. The tiny bulb grows in sandy soil and is not difficult to dig out of the ground when being collected. There is a fine grass which grows and indicates that the bush onion is in supply and ready to collect.
